[31 August] Debra Amidon's E100 network has started the preordering of the publication "Emerging Principles, Practices and Policies of Knowledge Economics" to which Erik van Bekkum has contributed in the chapter "Liberating the Innovation Value with Communities of Practice". Effectiveness of Knowledge Management -KM in no elusive term

[26 June] On July 7th the Rotterdam Business School is organizing it's first symposium on "the effectiveness of Knowledge Management", an effort to bring together practicioners, researchers and academics. Efios' Erik van Bekkum will be part of a six-expert panel including Deloitte & Touche's CKO and Professor Erik Andriessen from Delft University of Technology [site].

Efios supports foundation to improve housing and quality of life for Polish children

[12 May] Efios is supporting with a financial donation the initiative of a non for-profit organization "Kindertehuizen Polen" which helps to improve the living conditions of abandoned, abused and  handicapped young children in Poland. The foundations aims to improve the housing with repairs and quality of life by providing toys and games suitable for the children [site].

Erik van Bekkum steps down as executive director of Community Intelligence Ltd.

[17 April] Efios announces that on the 1st of March of 2004 Erik van Bekkum has stepped down as executive director of Community Intelligence Ltd. because of irrenconceivable differences with the chairman the board. Efios has been minority stakeholder in UK-based Community Intelligence Ltd since 2003.

Virtual Communities 2004 (The Hague, 15-16 June 2004)

[7 March] Harry Collier from Infornotics is organizing "Virtual Communties 2004" in The Hague. The final announcement about the speakers will be published on his website and the (new) weblog. Erik van Bekkum may be speaking about the communities of Practice of Rio Tinto mining. A series of presentations about those communities in Singapore and Melbourne last year, were well received.

Course program on Communities of Practice (Online and offline, 23-October 2003 - 4 December 2003)

[17 September] Triagonal organises a course program on Communities of Practice for in Spanish in collaboration with associated teacher Erik van Bekkum. The program, which will take place in an online as well as face-to-face environment, will address various aspects of communities from both strategic as well as functional standpoints. [15 agosto] George Pór y Erik van Bekkum de ECCOP organizarán un taller de un día de duración el 23 de octubre como parte de la conferencia del grupo ARK sobre comunidades de prácticas. El evento tendrá lugar en Londres y se basará en discusiones productivas, diálogos y potenciales no aprovechados en las comunidades de prácticas. [8 junio] La European Collaborative for Communities of Practice (ECCOP) ha lanzado una invitación abierta lo que crea una experiencia de aprendizaje de comunidad abiertas. El tema se relaciona con la innovación radical con comunidades; muchas comunidades globales han sido invitadas a participar en la discusión y a enviar sus opiniones. Los resultados serán presentados por George Pór y Erik van Bekkum la semana que viene durante el evento Virtual Communities 2003 en Londres. Efios and Triagonal combine structured with unstructured corporate learning

[11 February 2003] efios announces partnership with Triagonal, a Spanish company for e-learning and knowledge management. Efios will complement the service offering of Triagonal in the corporate learning environment.
